Behind Goryo Shrine in Fukuchiyama, Kyoto, Torinago is a long-running chicken specialty izakaya built around local jidori, serving grilled and simmered chicken dishes in a traditional setting. It is open nightly from 5:00 PM, with weekday and Saturday hours running until 11:00 PM (last order 10:00 PM) and Sunday and holiday hours until 10:00 PM (last order 9:00 PM), closed only around New Year’s. Its recognition on the 2025 Tabelog Hyakumeiten toriryori (chicken cuisine) list marks it as one of Japan’s standout chicken specialty restaurants.
