Usagiya is a long-established izakaya just a few minutes from Matsumoto Station in Nagano, known for Nagano regional specialties including horse-meat sashimi (basashi), with counter seating that welcomes solo diners. It has been named to Tabelog’s 2025 Izakaya EAST Hyakumeiten (Top 100) list, an honor it also received in 2024. Note: while the restaurant is normally closed on Sundays, it opens instead on Sundays that fall on a public holiday, closing the following Monday in that case.
