Furinkazan (風林火山)

Furinkazan is a bustling, no-reservation izakaya just steps from Matsumoto Station, serving Shinshu (Nagano) regional home cooking alongside a strong selection of local Nagano sake. Known among regulars for hearty dishes and horse sashimi, it draws both locals and travelers for its lively, old-school atmosphere, and has been recognized on the Tabelog Hyakumeiten Izakaya (EAST) 2025 list. Note: this Matsumoto restaurant is unrelated to the many other izakaya of the same name found elsewhere in Japan.
