Umezu (美味ぇ津゛)

Umezu is a tiny, husband-and-wife-run izakaya near Shiodome and Shinbashi in Tokyo, built around a compact counter and best known for its signature Shibaura beef nikomi (a rich braised beef-offal stew) and grilled motsu (tripe) dishes. Reservations are essential given the limited seating, and the restaurant has repeatedly earned a spot on Tabelog’s Izakaya Hyakumeiten (Top 100) East list, including 2025, thanks to its old-school atmosphere and deep, slow-cooked flavors.
