Shokudo Todaka (食堂とだか)

Shokudo Todaka is a tiny, nine-seat counter-only izakaya in Nishi-Gotanda, Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, run by chef-owner Yuhei Todaka. It serves a fixed multi-course, all-you-can-drink menu built around premium seasonal ingredients and has built a reputation as one of Tokyo’s hardest reservations to secure, with waits reported at two to three years. Bookings must be made directly by phone; third-party proxy reservations are not accepted. This is the original Nishi-Gotanda flagship, distinct from the same owner’s later “Todaka”-branded venues in the area. It has been named to Tabelog’s 2025 Izakaya EAST Hyakumeiten (Top 100) list, also having been recognized in 2021, 2022, and 2024.
