Shintaro (炭割烹 新谷)

A five-minute walk from the east exit of JR Wakayama Station, Shintaro is a reservation-only restaurant built around aged Kumano Jidori chicken grilled over Kishu binchotan charcoal, served as part of an approximately 15-dish seasonal course with sommelier-curated wine pairings. The restaurant seats guests at 6:00 PM or 7:00 PM starts, with each sitting running about two and a half hours, and closes on Wednesdays. Dinner typically runs ¥10,000 to ¥15,000, and same-day reservations are accepted by phone until 4:00 PM.
