Shijo Karasuma Santoku Rokumi

Shijo Karasuma Santoku Rokumi (formerly known as Ponshuya Santoku Rokumi Shijo Karasuma) is the Kyoto branch of the Santoku Rokumi sake-and-oden standing-bar brand, set in a renovated townhouse a few minutes from Hankyu Karasuma and subway Shijo stations. The menu centers on a signature oden simmered roughly eight hours in a chicken-bone broth, alongside A5 wagyu one-shot sukiyaki, assorted sashimi, and a sake-forward drink list continuing the brand’s original concept of sourcing directly from retailers nationwide.

Selected for Tabelog’s 2025 standing-bar Hyakumeiten, it is a sister location to Ponshuya Santoku Rokumi Fukushima Honten in Osaka and Santoku Rokumi’s Gojo-Takakura branch, also in Kyoto. The shop has no fixed weekly closed day.
