Sabanoueni mo Sannen is a mackerel-obsessed ramen shop near Sannomiya Station in Kobe, built around rich saba (mackerel) broth rather than the usual tonkotsu or shoyu base. Since opening in June 2021, its deeply savory, fish-forward soup and house-made noodles have earned it a devoted following among Kobe ramen fans. The playful name riffs on the Japanese proverb about patience paying off over three years, swapping in mackerel for the original’s stone. The shop was selected for the Tabelog Ramen Hyakumeiten (West) 2025 awards.
