Nakaei is a family-run neighborhood izakaya near Tanbaguchi Station in Kyoto’s Shimogyo Ward, recently passed to a second-generation owner continuing roughly three decades of history at the same location. The menu centers on fresh seasonal seafood and handmade dishes spanning oden to Western-influenced plates, paired with sake, shochu, and original cocktails. It was newly selected for the Tabelog Izakaya WEST Hyakumeiten in 2025.
