Tucked away on the third floor of a building in Sendai’s Ichibancho district, hou is a reservation-only hideaway with no sign or menu board out front. The chef sources prized breeds like Ise Akadori chicken, Kurosatsuma chicken, and Noda duck, grilling each skewer over Kishu binchotan charcoal in a distinctive “addition-style” (tashizan) yakitori format that builds flavor course by course. With just fourteen seats, it has quickly become one of Sendai’s most talked-about yakitori destinations.
