Don’t let the name fool you — Hirokawa Tailor is no outfitter, but a cosy U-shaped standing bar in Osaka’s Hiranomachi district, rebuilt from the ground up after its previous incarnation’s building was condemned. With more than 40 small dishes rotating behind the counter, from potato salad to chicken tataki, owner Hirokawa Ken has built a rare tachinomi where students and retirees drink comfortably side by side.
