Ganso Hasshou (元祖八昌)

Ganso Hasshou is a small, daytime-only okonomiyaki counter in Hiroshima’s Takeyacho area, near Nisseki Byoin-mae tram stop. Its name (“the original Hasshou”) points to a shared history with other Hiroshima okonomiyaki shops using the Hasshou name, including Okonomiyaki Hasshou in the nearby Noborimachi area — the precise relationship between these independently-run shops is disputed even among local Hiroshima food writers, so no single lineage is asserted here.

The shop serves lunch-hour okonomiyaki and is closed on Sundays.
