Hermitage de Tamura (エルミタージュ ドゥ タムラ)

Hidden in the forests of Karuizawa, Hermitage de Tamura is recognized among the Tabelog French EAST Hyakumeiten 2025 as a standalone hideaway restaurant beloved for its lush, green surroundings and classic French cooking. The restaurant has long been a favorite destination for a special meal away from the resort town’s busier streets.

The 31-seat restaurant includes private rooms but does not accommodate full-restaurant private hire. Reservations are required, and credit cards are accepted (VISA, Mastercard, JCB, AMEX, Diners), though electronic money is not available; a 10% service charge applies. A sommelier is on hand, and the restaurant is particular about its wine list.

Hermitage de Tamura is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, serving lunch from 12:00 to 13:00 and dinner from 17:30 to 19:30 Wednesday through Sunday, with irregular hours during Golden Week and the summer season.
