Ponshuya Santoku Rokumi

Ponshuya Santoku Rokumi Fukushima Honten (now also listed on some sites as Fukushima Honten Santoku Rokumi) is the original flagship of a standing sake bar brand that has since expanded with sister branches in Kyoto and Osaka Umeda. The twenty-one-seat, standing-only room serves a daily-changing menu of seafood and slow-braised beef alongside more than thirty sake labels, including hard-to-find bottlings, with a modest 429-yen appetizer charge per guest.

Opened in April 2015, it has drawn particular praise for an exterior that reviewers say looks too stylish to be a standing bar, and remains especially popular with women. Selected for Tabelog 2025 standing-bar Hyakumeiten, it accepts cash only.
