Hyogodori (ひょご鳥)

Open since August 2010, Hyogodori has built a following in central Kumamoto around a fourteen-seat, U-shaped counter where a dedicated grill master works Higo Akadori, Kuro Satsuma chicken, and Kojo chicken over charcoal. The restaurant has earned consecutive selection to the Tabelog Hyakumeiten’s yakitori WEST ranking from 2023 through 2025, and a second location, Furumachi Sen, opened in 2021. Private rooms accommodate up to six guests, and children are specifically welcomed on Sunday evenings from 5 to 7pm, a family-friendly touch uncommon among Hyakumeiten-level yakitori restaurants.
