Yakitori Mochizuki (焼鳥 望月)

A five-minute walk from JR Nara Station, Yakitori Mochizuki has held a place on the Tabelog Hyakumeiten’s yakitori WEST list for 2024 and 2025. Open since December 2013, the reservation-only, eight-seat counter restaurant is instantly recognizable by its owner’s habit of tucking a large red fan into his belt while grilling. The kitchen turns out carefully portioned, delicately sized skewers in a stylish, almost Western-inflected dining room that draws an especially loyal following among female diners.
