Shutei Tanaka is a renowned yakitori restaurant near Kanegafuchi Station, reborn from the legendary and famously hard-to-book “Toritanaka” with a more compact menu and pricing. Two chef brothers, each with more than three decades of training in Japanese cuisine, grill chicken over charcoal with techniques honed in the kaiseki tradition, pairing refined skewers with delicate seasonal small dishes and fine sake. The restaurant seats guests across two nightly omakase sittings and is reservation-only through TableCheck, with cash the sole accepted form of payment. Its intimate ten-seat counter and meticulous cooking have made it one of eastern Tokyo’s most celebrated yakitori destinations.
