Menya Eguchi (麺屋 えぐち)

Menya Eguchi relocated from Osaka’s Esaka neighborhood to Nara City in 2022, bringing with it a chuka soba built on a robust double broth of chicken, pork, and seafood. Its signature ajitama chuka soba (flavored egg ramen) won the Grand Prix in the 2023 Kansai edition of the Ultimate Ramen awards, and the shop also offers tsukemen and a limited-quantity salt ramen. The charcoal-grilled pork rice bowl, priced at just 150 yen, is a standout side dish that pairs well with the tender, medium-rare chashu found in the noodle bowls.
